Currently based in the Boston, MA area, I have been a student of the Japanese language and culture for over twenty years (including living in Japan for over seven years), and a professional translator for over ten years. My specialties include:

  • Medical and Pharmaceutical (clinical trial agreements/protocols, case reports, scholarly articles, package inserts, PMDA communications, etc.)
  • Scholarly articles (humanities & social science)
  • Current Affairs
  • General Business
  • Literature (classical and modern)
  • Art, Culture and History

Along with a solid command of the written Japanese language, as well as a direct knowledge of the country and its customs, I use my research skills and access to information to really get to know the source material, whatever it may be. Only after a thorough understanding of the original Japanese do I attempt to create a translation. This ensures that the translations are accurate, and that they employ the correct terminology. This attention to detail and commitment to understanding context means that, whatever the subject matter, I am able to render a professional English translation that conveys both the meaning and the spirit of the original work.
